About Computers Department

The Department of Computer Science was established in the year 1999 as part of self financed course BSC-MPCs(Maths, Physics and Computer Science) undergraduate program. Since inception the department is attracting students from all over Visakhapatnam and catering needs of more than 150 students every year.

The Department has the responsibility within the College for all academic aspects of computing; for teaching and collaboration with other departments and with industry. Department supports other departments to effectively use ICT tools like Digital & Virtual Class rooms in teaching –learning.

Beside strong theoretical foundation, we emphasize in developing practical skills, project based learning to help students acquire the essential skills in programming and to enable the students to fit themselves in the job market. The department has well equipped laboratory which is continuously being upgrading with latest configuration systems, digital gadgets and internet connectivity.

As part of industry collaboration, department conducts various Seminars & Workshops on various topics like Mobile App Development, Web development, Intellectual Property rights, Digital Marketing, Artificial Intelligence & Robotics etc.

Department established Artificial Intelligence Club to aware the students about various applications and branches of AI and students actively participate in projects & presentations which develops teamwork and orient them towards latest advancements in technology.

The Department has been supporting the students to attend Campus drives & Job interviews and students are being selected in reputed MNCs like Wipro, Infosys and Cognizant etc.

The HOD of the Department is acting as SWAYAM-NPTEL SPOC(Single point of contact) and provides encouragement & Support to the students & faculty to enroll in various online course provided by SWAYAM & NPTEL.
